Company now wholly-owned by management and colleagues
UCM to operate as FocusScript, LLC, effective immediately
Creve Coeur, MO – August 11, 2016 – Today United Compounding Management (“UCM”) announced a new name, FocusScript, LLC (“FocusScript”). The new name captures an expanded mission in response to customer demand for specialized claims management and network services. These services will build upon the Company’s success of bringing together payers and pharmacies to introduce business practice guidelines and rational pricing, while improving quality and raising detection of potential fraud, waste and abuse.
FocusScript also announced today a new ownership structure. The Company is now wholly-owned by the Company’s management team and colleagues.
“With the recent successful implementation of our new management-led ownership structure, and the growing momentum behind our business as we strive to meet the evolving needs of the industry, we felt the time was right to make this change,” said Cynthia Meiners, CEO, FocusScript. “We are excited to enter this next phase of our company’s growth as we continue to deliver value to payers and pharmacies who focus on the shared goal of bringing safe and effective medications to patients.”
Since launching in July 2014, FocusScript has remained dedicated to aligning the right people, values and technology needed to organize and oversee the delivery of quality standards, rational pricing and reasonable business practices to small but significant pharmacy markets such as compounding. The Company provides access to a network of more than 200 pharmacies that provide specialized and compounded medications, and has steadily added payer clients since its launch.
Through an exclusive partnership with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (“NABP”), compounding pharmacies in the FocusScript network are assessed through the United Credentialing and Accreditation Program (“UCAP”). Using NABP’s Verified Pharmacy Program (“VPP”) as its foundation, the UCAP program includes a rigorous review of business and quality practices, attestation to a code of conduct, and compounding specific requirements.
“FocusScript’s combination of partners, technology, and expertise has delivered an effective model for managing claims which historically have had a disproportionately negative impact on the market. Our independent and unbiased approach has delivered value to all of our stakeholders. We are pleased that through our network of credentialed and accredited pharmacies dedicated to competing on quality, the results for our clients have included reduced ingredient and administrative costs and more efficient audit and compliance management,” Rob Noel, SVP, Chief Growth Officer, FocusScript. “We have been asked to expand our model, and look forward to bringing additional services and benefits to our clients and pharmacies.”
Today’s name change is effective immediately, with no impact on FocusScript’s operations. Payers and pharmacies working with FocusScript will experience no service interruption or related impact.
